Dr. Elgar thanks her new patients and FVWCHP for the warm welcome (back) home!

I would like to thank my new patients and the staff at Fox Valley Women and Children’s Health Partners for welcoming me to the practice. It has been great to get to know you all and I can’t wait to meet more of you!

For those who have not met me, here is a little bit about me.

I was born and raised in the Fox Valley and am excited to practice here. No matter where I had to move for my education and training, this community has always been my home.

I was born in Geneva Community Hospital and grew up in Elburn, IL. I attended St. Peter’s School in Geneva for grade school and then Aurora Central Catholic High School. Being a part of the community has always been important to me, and I have belonged to the Elburn Lion’s Club and Elburn American Legion Auxiliary for many years. I was also a volunteer with Conley Outreach Center in Elburn. The community provided me with much support growing up so it was difficult to move away in order to pursue my education in medicine.

I have since dedicated my career to promoting women’s health. During medical school, I worked as a rape crisis advocate in Lake County. While in residency in Chicago, I did research in infertility and developed special interests in high risk pregnancy and infertility treatments. I was also trained on the DaVinci Robotic System and have become focused on minimally invasive procedures. I have been fortunate to work with a very diverse patient population while in Chicago and was able to expand on my fluency in Spanish.

I am proud to be able to offer my services to the community that has meant so much to me.

I look forward to working with everyone here.
